These cute yarn roses are not crocheted — they are made using a fork and yarn! Very easy and fast. I’ll teach you step-by-step.
Materials
- Yarn (any soft acrylic yarn works best)
- A regular dinner fork
- Scissors
- Needle + thread or hot glue (to secure bottom)

Step 1 — Prepare the Yarn
Pull out about 1 meter (100 cm) of yarn.
Don’t cut yet — just keep the yarn connected to the ball.
Step 2 — Begin Wrapping on the Fork
Hold the fork in your left hand (or right if you are left-handed).
How to Wrap:
- Place the yarn behind the fork.
- Bring the yarn over the front and then behind again.
- Repeat this like you are wrapping ribbon around the fork.

Wrap 12–16 times (more wraps = bigger rose).
Make sure your wrapping is neat and straight, not twisted.

Step 3 — Tie the Middle
Now cut a 10–12 cm piece of yarn.
- Slide this small piece through the middle gap of the fork tines.
- Pull the small yarn tight.
- Tie a double knot on the back side of the fork.
This knot is very important — it keeps the loops from falling apart.
Step 4 — Remove From Fork
Gently slide all the yarn off the fork.
Now you have a small bow tie shape (like a tiny butterfly).

Step 5 — Create the Spiral Rose
Hold the knot side down.
- Begin rolling the loops from one end toward the other, like rolling a cinnamon bun.
- The loops will naturally curve and look like petals.
Keep rolling slow and tight so the rose shape forms nicely.
Step 6 — Secure the Bottom
Option A: Needle & Thread (Best)
- Flip the rose over.
- Stitch through all bottom layers 3–6 times.
- Tighten and tie the thread off.
Option B: Hot Glue (Easiest)
- Add a small drop of glue to the bottom as you hold the rose shape.
- Press gently while glue cools.

Step 7 — Arrange Petals
Gently spread the outer loops to open the rose petals.
Finished! 🌹
Now you can use your roses to make:
- Hair clips
- Keychains
- Brooches
- Bag decorations
- Gift wrapping embellishments
Extra Tips:
| Result | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Bigger rose | Wrap the yarn more times (18–22 wraps) |
| Smaller rose | Wrap fewer times (8–10 wraps) |
| Full petals | Use thicker yarn |
| Delicate petals | Use thin cotton yarn |
