How to make Crochet Pumpkin

Here is a simple step-by-step tutorial to make the cute crochet pumpkins shown in the picture (both big and small). This is an amigurumi-style plush pumpkin with feet, stem, and leaf. Iโ€™ll keep it beginner-friendly.

๐Ÿงถ MATERIALS

For Big Pumpkin

  • Velvet/plush yarn (orange, brown, green)

For Small Pumpkin

Fasten off and close hole.

๐ŸŽƒ Pumpkin Ribbing (the most important step!)

This is how you get the cute pumpkin lines.

  1. Thread a long piece of orange yarn.
  2. Insert needle from bottom โ†’ top.
  3. Wrap the yarn around the outside of the pumpkin.
  4. Pull TIGHT to form a ridge.
  5. Repeat 6โ€“8 times around the pumpkin.

This is what gives the pumpkin its realistic shape.

๐ŸŒฑ SECTION 2 โ€” BIG STEM + LEAF

Stem

Using brown plush yarn:
R1: MR, 5 sc (5)
R2โ€“4: sc around (5)
Fasten off, sew to top.
